There are many soil types found in Georgia. There is the Georgia red clay, Kaolin, agricultural soils, Piedmont region,Coastal plain soil, etc. There is maybe more but here is a website that will give you more details if interested. http://www.ehow.com/list_6665069_types-soil-found-georgia_.html Georgia has suffered from the washing away of its topsoil . The Piedmont has lost a lot of productivity to erosion. The end result to highly erodite Piedmont to less vulnerable Coastal Plain. Georgia landscape and agricultural practices has changed since the twentieth century.


 Rock

Micaceous Schistis is a metamorphic rock with med to large grade of mica flakes. Schist have the tendency to split into layers. Schists are well-known from other foliated rocks by the size of their mineral crystals. Like for instance, hornblende schist, talc schist, chlorite schist, etc. Schist is often named after those Schist I just identified.
